Classic High Tea Rules
The classic High Tea game, when paired with the perfect shooting liquor, guarantees an effective and exciting experience.
Things You Need
- Two Players
- Two Shot Glasses of Equal Size
- A Deck of Standard Playing Cards
- Shooting Liquor (ideally at least 38% alcohol content to ensure enough fear)
- A Normal Drink for each player (beer, cocktail, etc)
Set Up
- Shuffle the deck of cards thoroughly.
- Each player is dealt 7 cards, which form their starting hand.
- The remaining deck is placed face-down in the center of the table to form the draw pile.
How to Play
- At the start of each round, draw the House Card from the top of the deck and reveal it face-up.
- Each player selects one card from their hand and places it face-down in front of them. This prevents influencing the opponent’s decision.
- Once both players have placed their cards, reveal them simultaneously.
- Compare the cards to determine the round's loser:
- The player who plays the lowest card (ranked 2 to Ace) loses the round.
- The losing player must drink, based on the comparison with the House Card:
- If the loser's card is equal to or higher than the House Card, they take a sip of their normal beverage.
- If the loser's card is lower than the House Card, they must take a shot.
- After one or both players have taken their drinks, place all the played cards onto the House Card pile. Then, draw a new House Card to start the next round.
Additional Rules
- If a Joker is revealed at any point (whether as a House Card or a played card), both players must take a shot.
- If both players play the same card, they both drink a shot as a penalty.
- Before play begins, a player may request a reshuffle of both hands and the deck, but this comes at the cost of taking a forfeit shot. This can only be done once per player.
- Each round is limited to one drink per player, whether it’s a shot or a drink.
